Printing Tips

How to get good, clean prints when printing from this website (or others!).

Printing from the internet can be frustrating! Here are some important tips to help you print from the web.

The hardest part with printing from the internet is that there are usually ugly lines of text on the top and bottom of the page. You just need to clear the HEADER and FOOTER in the Page Setup! While you are in there you can also change the orientation (print direction), the margins, the sizing, and other settings!

Here is how to do that for most browsers:

Google Chrome Browsers

Step 1: Click your Settings icon in the top right corner of your browser and select "Print..."

Step 2: Go down to "+More settings"

Step 3: Uncheck "Header and Footer". While here, you can also change the orientation of the document, choose the resolution (dpi), change the paper dimensions, and select Black & White, Color, or Grayscale.

FireFox Browsers

Step 1: Go to your Page Settings and go to Print

Step 2: Go to Page Setup...

Step 3: Change all "Headers & Footers" to be --blank--

Internet Explorer Browsers

Step 1: Go to your Page Setings, go to Print, and choose Print Preview.

Step 2: Click the "Headers and Footers" icon (when you hover over it, it should say "Turn headers and footers on or off"). Once you click it, you can see the headers and footers appear or disappear on the preview screen.

Step 3: If you'd like to change other settings, such as orientation, color, and paper size, return to Settings and Print. This time choose "Print" instead of "Print Preview."

Step 4: Go to Preferences.

Step 5: Go to Printing Shortcuts. Change quality, double-sided printing, orientation, and page size.

Ink & Paper Settings

In addition to your browser settings, you can change the settings on your printer to vary the quality and speed of your prints. There are too many printers for me to make tutorials on how to do that all here, but you should have a "Printing Preferences" option when you print or in your Control Panel.

Good luck with your internet printing!
