All Levels Social Studies: Emotive Flag

This is lesson is an introduction to the symbolism of the American flag to young students and reinforcing nationalism to older students. Students will commemorate 9/11 by identifying three feelings or emotions associated with the attack and assign colors that symbolize those feelings to a flag.
