Martin Luther King Jr

January 16, 1929 - April 4, 1969. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American Baptist minister, a civil rights advocate and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his use of non-violent resistance in protesting racial inequality. King led the March on Washington in 1963, which culminated in his famous “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. The march made demands for things such as minimum wage, end of racial segregation and protection of advocates from police brutality.
